The first rabbit's first two lines are quotes from recent headlines. Far too many people are talking about Trump's tariffs as if they're a series of earthquakes or something. The fact is, Congress set up the conditions for this to happen -- according to the Constitution Congress has jurisdiction over tariffs -- and can, at any time, exercise its prerogative and stop the madness. But it won't because the Republican Party especially has been working for half a century to invest more power in the unitary executive and they're not going to let a little thing like a worldwide Great Depression II slow them down. Plus also they can make themselves some baksheesh while they're at it.
